Meet the Team

Rachel Conlisk, Director of Spinsonic Circus has been teaching hula hooping since 2013, and teaching circus since 2016.  She specialises in circus style hula hooping, bubbleology,  and has performed on TV and on stage across the UK. Experienced in a school setting, care home and community settings, and in working with vulnerable groups and people with additional needs, Rachel is passionate about improving physical and mental wellbeing and social interaction through fun physical activity. Rachel is a Board Member of Active Black Country, a finalist in the Natwest Great British Entrepreneur of the Year, Unltd Award winner and a Small Biz 100 alumni.

Laura Bee is a hula hooping, juggling, balancing, plate spinning whizz. Having worked with children for years, a career break resulted in a new career with the circus and she never looked back!

Laura’s encouragement and way with people means even the most reticent and nervous participants engage with and enjoy circus skills activities.

Pui, a.k.a.Miss Pui Pui is an incredible, daredevil circus performer.  Fearlessly dangling high in the air from aerial silks or aerial hoop, she performs with the circus and at events across the UK. A multi-talented powerhouse, Pui also performs with LED hula hoops, Pixel Poi, fire fans, fire hoop, and fire eating. Pui teaches hula hooping and aerial circus arts at Jewels Academy and Circus MASH.

 

Michela Hoops (Miky Re) of hoophoophoop has been teaching in Birmingham for several years. She teaches regular classes to all levels and enjoys creating a joyful and friendly environment for people to learn and practice hooping while having fun! She’s worked in the community and in corporate settings offering a wide range of hula hooping workshops. She’s performed at several hooping and circus events. Michela is a qualified dance and movement therapist (MA, ADMP UK) and has worked with people with different abilities, physical impairments and mental health issues. She runs fire spinning nights and hoop classes in Birmingham and organises Birmingham Hoop Fest.

Sarah Gregory is a hula hooping, juggling, spinning dragon! Her daring feats with burning torches are truly breathtaking! She also rocks a fire hoop and an LED hoop! Don’t try this at home!

Terry Brand is not only a poi spinner extraordinaire but a busy dad and a mentor for young deaf people as well. His speciality is poi spinning, and spins LED and fire poi! He is an amazing teacher able to break down the most complicated concepts with ease.

Terry is fluent in British Sign Language and holds a degree in Deaf Studies , Special Needs and Inclusion Studies.  He has been working with deaf children with additional needs for five years and deaf and blind adults for two years. He
