Spinsonic Circus School is a social enterprise based in Birmingham, in the West Midlands. Founded in 2013 by Rachel Conlisk, we began by delivering hula hoop workshops and performance across the UK and manufacturing bespoke adult and children's hula hoops.
We specialise in inclusive workshops for adults and children with learning disabilities, people who are blind, people who are deaf, and people who have other additional needs, working with Sandwell Adult Services, Birmingham Disability Sport, Beacon Centre for the Blind, MENCAP, Birmingham MIND and the Deaf Cultural Association.
Expanding into ground circus skills in 2017, we are now able to offer circus skills workshops with professional instructors in juggling, slackline, plate spinning, poi spinning, hula hooping, diabolo, stilts for children, balance/pedal boards, parachute play and a giant (5'4!) hula hoop, as well as entertainment areas for community events and festivals which engage the whole family. Our instructors are professional entertainers and performers and all hold a current DBS certificate.
We use sensory circus equipment for our Sensory Circus sessions for children with autism and their families. These sessions are very popular and numbers are limited so booking in advance is essential.
We will be offering inclusive, affordable community circus clubs across the West Midlands, if you are interested in a circus club in your area, get in touch - we would love to hear from you.
You can find our sister site, specialising in hula hoop workshops and performance over at Hoops Rock!
We are proud to be partnered with Circus250 in 2018, the 250 year anniversary of circus in the UK.
Spinsonic Circus School is delighted to announce we have joined over 600 of the UK's top family-friendly organisations by signing up to the Family Arts Standards The Family Arts Standards are helping families find activities that are suitable for all ages that all family members can enjoy together.
