ASD Friendly Sensory Circus

Sensory Circus is currently on a break, returning later in 2019.

The Sensory Circus Stay & Play sessions are designed for children who are on the autistic spectrum. We provide space for children and their parents/carers/siblings to play in our Active Zone, or relax in our Chill Out Zone. They help with physical mobility, social interaction and mental stimulation.  The variety of activities means there are plenty of distractions, and everyone can find something that they enjoy or are good at.

Families can learn new circus skills, enjoy creative play, meet other families – and improve physical mobility, mental stimulation and social interaction through circus play.  Booking is essential, to ensure the space isn’t too crowded.

In the Active Zone you will find hula hoops, juggling balls, scarves and rings, plate spinning, bucket and metal stilts, a low textured balance beam, a slackline, a textured grippy rolling drum for walking on, poi spinning, diabolo, parachute play, pedal boards.

Instructors are on hand to show you how to get started with the equipment, and to show you some amazing circus tricks.

We have sectioned off a Chill Out Zone, and it has soft matting, circus play tents, sensory toys, and blankets.

The tents each have soft cushions and blankets in. The reversible sequin cushions are a favourite of all the children (and adults!)
